How is the FDE different from a Solution Architect?
Both start the same way — discovery and solution design. They split the moment code has to ship: the Solution Architect designs and hands off; the Forward Deployed Engineer writes production code daily and owns the outcome end-to-end. The FDE's territory is bounded on both sides. It doesn't own the model or the SDK — it owns everything in between: getting AI working inside the customer. That ownership, the production work an SA hands off, is exactly what gets an FDE hired.
